Tape Loops
Make a tape loop from an old recording, then mix it with other people's tapes into a short ambient piece.
Make a tape
A workbench, separate from the mix. Pick a length of tape, then click the recording where you want to start recording. The tape decides where it ends. You hear your tape here on its own; when it sounds right, put it in a deck or on the shelf.
Mix
Four decks, all alike. Pop in tapes from the shelf below, yours and other people's: they're all in the same key and cut to the same lengths of tape, so any of them fit. Then play them together, or make a track: when it's done you can publish it for others to hear.
The shelf
Listen
Tracks that people have mixed and published. Nothing is uploaded as audio: a track is the list of tapes and how they were played, and this page plays it again on the same tape machine.
